Building Energy Engineer- Modeler 1

Group14Engineering is seeking an entry-level Building Energy Engineer. This is a hybrid position; you can work from the office and home after you’ve completed onboarding in the office for the first several months. Applicants must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics and building systems (e.g., HVAC and lighting) 
• Knowledge of commercial HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and building control systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially spreadsheet and word processing tools.

Other Desired Qualification:

• Energy modeling with OpenStudio/EnergyPlus, eQuest, Bluebeam, advanced Excel proficiency, and programming skills in VBA, or other relevant languages and tools
• Experience with commercial and multifamily buildings
• Undergraduate degree in mechanical or architectural engineering from an accredited program

Responsibilities:

• Model energy, daylighting and thermal performance of buildings and building assemblies
• Analyze effectiveness and make recommendations on energy efficiency strategies
• Develop working knowledge of building energy codes and standards
• Prepare client reports and LEED submissions

• Salary range: $55,000-$70,000
