Existing Buildings Team – Energy Engineer
Group14 is seeking an Energy Engineer with a wide breadth of technical knowledge to support our Existing Buildings team.

Your Expertise
- 0-4 years of experience with commercial buildings, preferably with experience in MEP design, energy services, commissioning, controls, or other related consulting
- Physically located in the Denver metro area with the ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Undergraduate degree in engineering and related credentials are a plus (Engineer in Training (EIT), SkySpark Certified Professional, and/or Certified Energy Manager (CEM))
- Working knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, commercial HVAC, and building control systems preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel spreadsheet skills for engineering calculations
- Strong technical writing skills for report deliverables
- Ability to tackle multiple tasks, prioritize, and perform work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work cooperatively and successfully with teammates, clients, and other outside third parties
How You Will Contribute
- Support energy projects with review of documentation, utility analysis, Energy Conservation Measure (ECM) savings calculations, and report writing.
- Execute field work to review equipment operation, perform energy audits, and test equipment.
- Perform other general analysis and report writing for projects including portfolio decarbonization and emissions studies.
- Design and execute monitoring plans to analyze HVAC energy performance of new and existing buildings.
- Configure and customize SkySpark software to monitor buildings. This includes configuring sites, tagging data points, and testing the functionality of features.
- Execute monitoring based commissioning services using the configured SkySpark sites to identify issues, verify corrections, and quantify the savings achieved.
